Deep expertise in immigration law

Before starting Waypoint, I worked at several major law firms and advised large tech companies and Fortune 500s on immigration matters for their employees. It was through these experiences that I saw firsthand the difficulties that even top level employees were experiencing with immigration and how much they could potentially benefit with the help of their own lawyer (and not just their company's lawyers who represent company, not employee, interests).

Always pushing the boundaries of what's possible

I don't always take open-and-shut cases. Many times, I try non-traditional cases and use legal creativity to come up with arguments for why my client is qualified for EB-1A. Through this approach, I've been able to get approvals for clients who did not fit a traditional EB-1A profile, were turned away by other lawyers, but ultimately got approvals through Waypoint.

Course structure

6 weeks of instruction (2 hours per week)

Week 1: Understand EB-1A anchor criteria, how to do outreach using LinkedIn and other platforms, and how to generate acclaim. 10 minute 1:1s with Amber.
Week 2: Learn about the judge role criterion, how to find high quality hackathons, awards, and peer review opportunities. 5 minute 1:1s with Amber.
Week 3: Learn about the media coverage criterion, how to use Qwoted (which has helped some EB-1A Strong community members with media coverage opportunities) and other resources, how to reach out to reporters, and how to create a media summary about you. 5 minute 1:1s with Amber.
Week 4: Learn about membership through a workshop (potential guest speaker, someone who got their EB-1A approved), and how to get involved in IEEE and other professional membership organizations. No 1:1s.
Week 5: Learn about the authorship and awards criteria followed by a Q&A session. 5 minute 1:1s with Amber.
Week 6: Graduation Day! By Week 6, you should have learned enough about the skills and tools to build a strong EB-1A profile. We will also be talking about the EB-1A Strong community. 10 minute 1:1s with Amber and profile reviews.
